The Pearl of Doris | Cuepoxy Collectible Mug #29
Secure checkout
In Greek mythology, Doris is an Oceanid and, with Nereus, the mother of the Nereids, the sea nymphs. Cuepoxy’s The Pearl of Doris imagines pearls as a poetic expression of a mother’s love and longing; that image is an artistic interpretation, not a claim from the ancient sources.
In the handcrafted original, an oyster shell opens to reveal dark and pale pearls. Rose-toned crystals and coral-like details gather at the resin base, suggesting a quiet place on the seafloor. Collectible mug #29 brings the image of that patient, luminous discovery to a coffee or tea break.

Artist’s Note
The opening of the oyster shell shaped the whole piece for me. I arranged the contrasting pearls within it and let the crystals and coral-like forms frame that small revelation. The artwork featured on this mug is a real, handcrafted Cuepoxy piece in my private collection; the physical original is not included with the mug. This is collectible mug #29 of 30, created so the image can be enjoyed beyond the private collection. The artwork may also be presented in other formats, including wall art.
