The Sanctuary of Tiamat | Cuepoxy Collectible Mug #26
Secure checkout
In the Babylonian creation epic Enuma Elish, Tiamat is the primordial salt water from which the first generations of gods emerge. Cuepoxy’s The Sanctuary of Tiamat imagines a place to contemplate that origin; the sanctuary is an artistic interpretation, not a location described in the ancient poem.
A shell-like opening forms the center of the handcrafted piece, ringed by pale stones and filled with shells. A golden sphere glows at its heart, while coral-like columns frame the scene. This collectible mug carries the image of that imagined threshold between deep water and creation into a quiet coffee or tea ritual.

Artist’s Note
I built the shell opening as a portal and arranged the stones, shells and golden sphere to suggest something ancient within. The artwork featured on this mug is a real, handcrafted Cuepoxy piece in my private collection; the physical original is not included with the mug. This is collectible mug #26 of 30, created so the image can be enjoyed beyond the private collection. The artwork may also be presented in other formats, including wall art.
