The Breath of Stribog | Cuepoxy Collectible Mug #11

In Slavic tradition, Stribog is associated with the winds. The Tale of Igor’s Campaign calls the winds his grandchildren, carrying his breath across the world. The image of air moving over water gives his story a restless, coastal energy.
In Cuepoxy’s The Breath of Stribog, a golden sea sponge rises beside dark, latticed coral above a circular resin base with open shells. The gallery story imagines the still artwork amid storm winds and lightning: the sponge as breath, the coral as voice, the shells as words. On this mug, that image invites a moment to feel how even an unseen force can change the direction of a day.

Artist’s Note
I arranged the sponge, coral, and shells around the idea of an exhalation reaching across the sea. The artwork featured on this mug is a real, handcrafted Cuepoxy piece in my private collection; the physical original is not included with the mug. This is collectible mug #11 of 30, created so the image can be enjoyed beyond the private collection. The artwork may also be presented in other formats, including wall art.
